Summary
A Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all common areas including his/her assigned residents’ apartments. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of serving senior adults. Housekeepers report directly to the Housekeeper Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Dust all tables, chairs, desks, cabinets, lamps/light fixtures, walls, vents, handrails, ceiling fans, baseboards and blinds.
• Vacuum carpet, sweep and mop floors. Spot clean carpet when needed.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Refill paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers.
• Clean inside of windows and mirrors.
• Empties common trash and resident’s trash containers and assists in taking trash from staging area to dumpster.
• Clean inside and outside of washer/dryers. Empties the lint traps.
• Assists residents when on laundry services with personal laundry and folding of laundry
• Identifies potential maintenance issues and reports findings
• Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical and cleaning solutions use and stocking of housekeeping carts
• Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process
• Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident social activity program
• Attends staff meetings and training when necessary
