Summary
The principle function of the Security Staff is to assist management in providing a safe environment for our Residents, visitors and employees. In addition, the Security staff will be responsible for responding to emergency situations when necessary. This will be accomplished through a comprehensive program that the employee must be familiar with. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of serving senior adults. The Security staff reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Security’s primary work area is at the Front Desk of the main entrance. As such, the first impression a visitor will have when entering the Community will be that of the employee sitting at the Front Desk. You must act professional and always greet visitors as well as Residents in a friendly, courteous manner with respect and warmth.
- Screens and requires visitors to sign in at reception desk. Instructs visitors according to
- Resident’s instructions and gives directions to location of apartments.
- Assists in monitoring Resident emergency response systems and fire alarm systems.
- Assists in emergency situations such as contacting emergency personnel, copying information for emergency personnel or help directing Residents and/or visitors to safety.
- Answers and screens all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner. Forward calls and takes messages, as appropriate.
- Forwards all inquiries for marketing to the Marketing Director.
- No one other than an employee or individual meeting with Management is allowed behind the front desk.
- No eating is allowed at the front desk.
- Friends, dates, spouses or other family members should not come by to visit during your shift other than to have lunch with you, to bring you something to eat or for an emergency.
- Refrain from making personal phone calls. Long distance calls will not be allowed unless approved by Management.
- You should arrive for your shift ten (10) minutes before your scheduled time to receive a report concerning any matters either pertaining to the day or to your shift.
- Acts as an ambassador of the Community.
